9 Ways to Use Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used as a healing modality before biblical days and have been considered man?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s first medicine. Therapeutic usage of pure essential oils is seeing a re-emergence and is anything but “New Age.”

The popularity in using therapeutic-grade essential oils in conjunction with holistic healing practices and on their own in daily life is helping many to discover there are safe and effective ways to ease every day ailments and situations such as: headaches, stress, sinus problems, germ & bacteria exposure, toxic mold, digestive upsets, and much more.

The novelty aromatherapy products widely available will not have the same beneficial effect as a therapeutic-grade essential oil - as a matter of fact, those products may have adverse affects due to their adulteration and chemical additives. If you experience the sick feeling like I do when I go near a box store isle and get one whiff of the novelty aromatherapy candles, diffusing products, soaps, and so forth - rest assured, your body is trying to tell you something, those products are toxic.

There are hundreds of real essential oils available and there is no need to settle for inferior products. I love showing people that there are so many ways to use high quality essential oils - ways that you may never have dreamed.

9 Ways to Use Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils

1. Ease stress. Put a drop into your palm and dip your fingertip into the oil, then apply to pulse points. Good Young Living essential oils are: Roman Chamomile, Lavender, Sandlewood, or Cedarwood.

2. Pick me up / mental clarity. Studies have shown essential oils of Peppermint and Lemon do the trick. The Young Living blend, Brain Power, is quite good too.

3. Good night’s sleep. Put a drop in your palm, rub on soles of feet and lightly on your pillow. Good essential oils for aiding restful sleep: Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Valerian (you may not want to put this on your pillow though), and the Young Living blends of Surrender, or Hope.

4. Inhalation. A drop in cupped palms over the nose to open breathing passages and help ease head pain. Good choices are: Ravensara, Peppermint, Eucalyptus radiata, Geranium, or the Young Living blend M-Grain.

5. Soles of feet. You may be surprised that rubbing a couple drops of a real essential oil on the soles of the feet can have a very beneficial effect. I wasn’t until I started applying oils to my feet that I became fully aware of how much they absorb, now I am especially conscious of what touches my feet and my skin in general. Good essential oils for staying grounded are the Young Living blends Grounding and Sacred Mountain.

6. Digestion. Rub a couple drops on the belly. Good choices would be: Peppermint, Fennel or the Young Living blend Di-Gize.

7. Cologne / perfume. Essential oils make great choices for a fragrant cologne/perfume. Some of my Young Living blends are: Joy, Abundance, Motivation, Sensation, Sacred Mountain, Gentle Baby, and Inspiration.

8. Diffusing. Using a cold-air nebulizer diffuser is the best way to get these essential oils into the air so they can provide benefits [killing germs and bacteria, purifying the air, killing toxic mold, and raising the vibrational energy of the home]. Terrific choices would be: Thieves for mold and germs, Purification for yucky smells, Christmas Spirit for germs and odors, Citrus Fresh for a nice fresh scent and pick-me-up, Sensation for those romantic evenings, Joy to uplift the overall mood, Exodus II, Sandlewood or Frankincense for meditation or other spiritual practices, Inspiration or Brain Power for creative times, to name only a handful.

9. Bathing. Feel like you’ve just treated yourself to a spa experience. Add 4-6 drops to sea salt or epsom salts and add to your bath water. Some excellent choices would be: Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Sandlewood, or Young Living blends of Sensation, Melrose, PanAway, Joy, Gentle Baby, Motivation, Inspiration, Gratitude, Live with Passion, or Dragon Time.
